The Jackson Sun, a newspaper based in Jackson, Mississippi, announced that the Madison County Sheriff's office is replacing its Tasers with another nonlethal weapon called a Phazzer, which is lighter, smaller, and, more importantly, less expensive for the department. Additionally, the battery life on the PhaZZer is significantly longer. They note that the two products are essentially the same, based on their legal backing and research, and they operate in the same manner, with two electrified probes extending from the gun.
